Mulch, Soil, Compost & Firewood
We offer delivery of bulk materials within a 20 mile radius of the garden center. Materials offered include: Premium Shredded Hardwood Bark Mulch, Double Ground Hardwood, Blended Mushroom Compost, Wasco Garden Mix, Pulverized Black Dirt, and Premium Firewood.
Our premium mulch is naturally dark, chocolaty brown (it is not dyed). It is made up of mostly Oak and Hickory bark. It is not chemically treated and contains no ground up pallets (this is actually a common practice believe it or not). Mulch is used for insulating the ground, weed control and adding aesthetic value to the landscape.
Mulch layers should be approximately 2-3″ deep, no more or less.

Our natural, double-ground mulch is aged for 8 to 12 months in a properly ventilated area. While this contributes to its darker, more uniform color, it also improves the mulch’s biologic benefits. This is a ground wood chip product, it is more coarse than our Premium Shredded Bark Mulch. This is a good solution for the budget conscious gardener that doesn’t want to compromise on quality.
Mulch layers should be approximately 2-3″ deep, no more or less.
Our compost is made up of a blend of mushroom compost, composted pine bark fines and composted manure. It is screened, blended and aged. Blended mushroom compost is an excellent soil amendment that will add life to your soil as well as break up heavy clay soils. It is commonly used in perennial gardens, vegetable gardens and on landscape beds.

Pulverized black dirt (aka: topsoil) is commonly used for building berms, leveling low spots in the lawn or for building up landscape beds. Our black dirt is locally sourced and screened for debris.
Wasco Nursery’s own blend of compost and topsoil is the first thing you should be using when starting a new vegetable garden, planting flower beds, or doing any soil amendment.
Our mix is perfect for new or existing vegetable gardens. It can also be used for large raised garden beds and for establishing new flower / perennial beds.
