Microgreens are young seedlings of vegetables and herbs that come in a variety of flavors. They are easy to grow, packed with nutrients, and taste great with just about everything.

Microgreens are Nutrient Powerhouses

The amount of nutrients inside microgreens is incredible. Certain types of microgreens have been found to contain up to 40 times the amount of vitamins and antioxidants, when compared to their mature counterparts (1)

How do you grow Microgreens?

Growing microgreens is one of the easiest things to do. All you need in order to grow microgreens is: Microgreen Seeds, a Bright Window, and a proper Microgreen Planter with Soil. Start by taking your planter and cleaning it out. Then, add soil about 2/3 of the way up the container and cover the surface with your microgreen seeds. After you have sown your seeds, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil until they are no longer visible. Water the microgreens well and drain any excess water. Bottom-watering is also a good method to make sure the microgreens maintain good moisture levels. Once the microgreens have germinated, place them on a bright window for them to continue growing. After about a week, the microgreens should be ready for harvest.

What’s next?

After you have harvested your fresh microgreens, you can:

  • Blend them in with smoothies
  • Add them into salads or sandwiches
  • Use them to garnish soups, pizzas, pasta, eggs, and other warm dishes

Microgreens can be used in hundreds of different dishes, provide tons of health benefits, and are easy enough to grow that a child could do it.
